Since 1983, Gordon Johnston has helped employers increase their profitability through employment and litigation strategies and solutions. He has helped employers train managers to detect and avoid problems before they turn into lawsuits, losses or union election campaigns.

Gordon’s accomplishments include successful litigation of all types of workplace matters including employment contracts, trade secret violations, intellectual property, benefit programs, harassment and discrimination, workplace torts, unfair labor practice proceedings, various federal and state workplace regulations, and appeals. Gordon has successfully represented employers in more than 60 arbitration cases.

Gordon has reformed dysfunctional collective bargaining relationships to reduce labor costs and increase profitability, including developing effective discipline and arbitration strategies. He has implemented gain sharing incentives in lieu of wage increases in several bargaining agreements and with non-union employers. Gordon has used public relations strategies when appropriate to achieve proper goals.

Gordon also represents many executives with respect to employment, compensation, competition and severance issues and has served as a mediator in business disputes.
Gordon has served as a speaker to the American Bankers Association School of Human Resources, the Counsel on Education Management and the Pittsburgh Personnel Association. His published articles include, "Tips for Effective Work Place Searches," Getting Results for the Hands-on Manager, March 1997; "Protecting Against Talent Raids," Pittsburgh Business Times, May 1995.
